YOUNG ADULTS OF TODAY

Youth , the "future of our nation" is really an easy saying nowadays .But the question arises are they really or not ?  It have two phases one is saying -Yes, whereas the other side of this concern is saying No. Every youth of the nation is typically showing the future health of the county .But ,what will happens if the younger generation of the nation is still not in the perspective of living their lives .As we seen there are countless suicide cases which often highlight a significant rise in anxiety disorders and depression among them.

Factors contributing in youth mental health

Social Media -

Research take a look at the probable negative impacts of excessive social media use on self esteem, body image,  social comparison which contributes in disruptions in their simple and basic lifestyles .As they usually started imaging their lifestyle according to peers and try to conform with them and end up  by neglecting plus doubtful thoughts among their minds about their beliefs or behaviors to match with them.

Exposure to adversity -

It refers to a process in which a youngsters contact with remarkable -ve events like abuse, neglect , poverty , family violence or community trauma , which can have lasting -ve impacts on their mental , emotional and physical development , frequently affecting their future health and behavioral patterns outcomrs.

Exploration of Identity -

It refers to the action where youngers actively inspect and question different aspects of themselves , including their beliefs ,values , interests , and goals , in order to understand who they are and how they fit into the world.

  •  Identity achievement.      

Stigma and Barriers to seeking help-

Many younger  ones hesitate to seek help due to the stigma surrounding mental health.They may fear judgement from peers or adults,leading to a reluctance to discuss their struggles.

  • Globally, it is roughly calculated that 14% of 10-19 year olds experience mental health conditions, yet these remain largely unrecognized .
  • Suicide is the third primary reason of death among those aged 15-29 years old.
  • covid - 19 increases the rate of psychological distress among teenagers.
